Micro-CT Analysis of the Root Canal Configuration of Maxillary Second Molars with Fusion

چکیده
Purpose: The present study investigated the root canal configuration of maxillary second molars with fusion using micro-computed tomography (micro-CT).
Materials & Methods: A total 136 fused were scanned tomography. Images transferred to CTAn v.1.18.8 software (Bruker-microCT) obtain three-dimensional models. specimens classified according type. According Vertucci, classification roots was determined CTVol v. 2.3.2.0 and DataViewer v.1.5.6 softwares. that could not be represented also specified. frequency type calculated.
Results: For Type 1 (n=40) 2 (n=22), most common for mesiobuccal (MB), distobuccal (DB) palatal (P) canals I. In 3 (n = 21), DB P completely in sample accordance Vertucci IV, while remaining specimens, types II, I, V, VI IV observed decreasing order MB canal. 4 fusion, 21 showed VI, I III configurations. 17 samples, had VII configurations, V 7 samples 5 all displayed different 6 configurations classified. seen 9 19 a single canal.
Conclusion: dominant DB, however, much more diverse either independently or when included fusion.

AIM To investigate ex vivo, the root canal morphology of the MB root of maxillary first molar teeth by means of micro-computed tomography. METHODOLOGY Thirty extracted intact human maxillary first molar teeth were selected for micro-tomographic analysis (SkyScan 1072, Aartselaar, Belgium) with a slice thickness of 38.0 mum. The following data regarding the MB root were analysed and recorded: ...
متن کاملUnusal canal configuration in maxillary and mandibular second molars
This clinical article describes three different case reports of maxillary and mandibular second molars with the unusual anatomy of single root with a single canal and their endodontic management. An unusual case of bilateralism is observed in the first two cases in the form of single-rooted second mandibular molars in both the quadrant of the same patient. The presence of maxillary second molar...

INTRODUCTION The aim of this study was to describe the canal shaping properties of a novel nickel-titanium instrument, the self-adjusting file (SAF), in maxillary molars. METHODS Twenty maxillary molars were scanned by using micro-computed tomography at 20-μm resolution. Canals were shaped with the SAF, which was operated with continuous irrigation in a handpiece that provided an in-and-out v...
